Privacy Policy: What We Collect and Why

Short version: we collect almost nothing, sell nothing, and delete on request.

What we collect

We collect an email address only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter. We also see anonymous page-view counts, which tell us which guides are useful and which are not. We use no accounts, no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting.

We do not ask for your name, your phone number or your location. If you email us, we keep that message only long enough to reply and then let it go.

How we use it

Your email is used to send the newsletter and nothing else. We do not rent, sell or share it with advertisers. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and it works the first time, every time.

Anonymous page-view data helps us choose what to write next and what to stop writing. It is aggregated, so no single reader can be identified from it.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we respond within seven days. If you are in a region with stronger data rules, those rights apply to you as well, and we will honour them.

For how we handle copyright, see our DMCA policy, or read more on the About Us page.

Where we cite standards or safety advice, we point readers to public bodies such as UN Tourism and national tourism boards, alongside our own reporting.
